  South Edge Produce was created to share the very best of Tasmania with cooks, food lovers and families across Australia.

Behind the brand is Menlo Fields, a family-owned farm in North East Tasmania with more than two decades of experience growing premium produce. What began as a small trial of shallots in the early 2000s quickly became a passion. Through years of learning, refining and growing, that small experiment evolved into one of Australia's leading specialist shallot producers.

Over the years, we discovered that exceptional produce starts long before harvest. It begins with the land, the climate and the care taken at every stage of the growing process. Tasmania's cool temperatures, fertile soils and long growing season create ideal conditions for developing flavour naturally, producing ingredients with remarkable depth, consistency and character.

 At Menlo Fields, we built our reputation on growing premium shallots for wholesalers, retailers and chefs around the country. South Edge Produce is the next chapter in that story — a brand dedicated to bringing the same quality and expertise directly to consumers.

Every product we offer is carefully selected with one goal in mind: helping people create better meals. Whether it's our premium shallots, black garlic or future additions to the range, we focus on ingredients that deliver exceptional flavour and inspire confidence in the kitchen.

Today, South Edge Produce remains proudly Tasmanian. We're still guided by the same values that shaped us from the beginning: quality, consistency, provenance and a belief that great food starts with great produce.

From the southern edge of Australia, we're proud to share the flavours, traditions and growing conditions that make Tasmania one of the world's great food-producing regions.
